Our hardware-products and the directly associated software-products are a part of the worldwide market for Digital Imaging. They have been optimized for almost 15 years and in accordance with our customer’s valuable feedback. Innovation for customers
We see ourselves as an "innovation for customers" driven company. As such we have pioneered single-scan panoramic- and later on full-spherical photography in the late 90’s. And as full-spherical photography doesn’t allow for any artificial lighting on location, our spherical cameras “naturally” were challenged by the dynamic range of the location.
To overcome image quality limitations (due to saturated pixels), we successfully developed what later became worldwide known as High Dynamic Range imaging (HDRi) in early 2000. In fact, we believe that the SpheroCam HDR with its 26 f-stops dynamic range and 50 MPixel full spherical resolution (captured in a single scan!) has been the world’s first commercial HDR product.
In the first 10 years of this new century, most of us have experienced the tremendous power of visual information technologies in many ways: "Seeing is believing" and "An image says more than a thousand words". We believe that these genuine truth’s will further continue to promote the usage of full-spherical, immersive imagery as an "easy to use" methodology to explore remote sites and to access located assets and associated knowledge.
We believe that in the coming ten years, the above term “visual” will further mature into something like “Immersive-3D/Real-Virtuality”, a trend, which will require a complete range of additional reality-capturing-devices. Finally, a dense and vivid 3d-digital representation of planet earth will emerge, which will be the "digital host”, for a multitude of interactions. It is our vision to contribute to the above development with exciting new devices and associated software products.
